 | | The Brief Our clients were looking for an architect to help them in relation to a takeaway pizzeria in Malahide Road, Dublin 3. They were interested with a lease for a unit used as a shop. Planning permission had been granted for a pizzeria and a fire safety certificate was also issued for similar use. A disability Access certificate was missing. The clients were first willing to preserve the layout with only minor changes in the organisation of the kitchen equipment. | | The Project Answering to our clients' brief, we revised the original layout as per their requirements. However, after further consideration and to reduce construction cost, the clients decided to fully review the internal layout and a new fire certificate was required. Existing WC were modified for wheelchair access. An existing cold room was removed to provide a storage area. The ceilings and other elements were upgraded for fire safety. The signage on the front facade was changed to advertise the new pizzeria. | | | | | | The Construction We were not involved with the construction work but we provided the clients with a design in compliance with the Building Regulations. The design was used to obtain a fire safety certificate and a disability access certificate. All the construction work was carried out by a contractor appointed by the clients. It was completed within 4 weeks. Trappola Pizza opened in July 2011. | |
